For background on the Paul Castaway shooting, see our previous post on the Castaway case. His last words, directed to the police who killed him, were “What’s wrong with you guys?” The family and several witnesses are on record as disputing the official police version of the shooting.

Note that the DPD has yet to upload the video to their YouTube account, where they boast of being Emmy and Edward R. Murrow award winners.

Police officer Michael Traudt, who shot Castaway four times as Castaway held a knife to his own throat, is taking time off and will be removed from “line of fire” duty when he returns. He has been with the DPD just over a year. He will face no charges.
