#Sabu Week: USA v. Hector “Sabu” Monsegur Sentencing Documents August 2011

Well, as we all know, Sabu got a pat on the head and a golden handshake instead of an actual sentence from Loretta Preska, who is married to one of the victims of the Stratfor hack which Sabu helmed. This is the same judge who sentenced Jeremy Hammond to ten years for that self-same hack. We’re not saying that the judge was staggeringly compromised and clearly couldn’t preside objectively, no, not saying that at all. It’s just that, as they say, when you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras.



Sabu is scheduled to be sentenced today, February 22, 2013, 10:30 AM by District Judge Loretta Preska.

The first transcript from Aug. 5th 2011 describes in general terms Sabu’s cooperation with federal officials:
