Spangles the Cross Eyed Pirate Kitty

Well, kittens, here’s the most interesting job opportunity we’ve come across today: paid intern (and at a decent rate, no less) for Julia Reda of the German Pirate Party. Yes, it beats that ol’ nebulous “come work for the NSA doing, uh, something. We can’t really say. If you’re qualified, that is. To do…whatever it is.”

If what we hear of the German Pirate Party’s internal politics is correct, this is a great position for any Machiavellian looking for a hierarchy in dramatic turmoil where s/he can really shine.

In the meantime: 900 Euros a month!

We are offering a position as trainee to strengthen Julia’s team. As a trainee you will be called upon to perform a multitude of tasks including:

  • Supporting the assistants in their respective fields of expertise. This may include policy research, event organisation, social media community management, communication and meetings. The main focus of the policy work will be the upcoming copyright reform.
  • Assisting with the day-to-day management of the office. You will be trained to handle administrative, procurement and accounting tasks on your own.

The position requires great flexibility and adaptability: irregular working hours, varying workloads, ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, and the capacity for teamwork in an international environment. Irregular travels to Strasbourg can be expected. Julia is actively striving for diversity in her office and especially encourages applications by structurally marginalised groups.

See the rest of the ad on her site, and keep in mind: the deadline for application is August 15!
