Police in Turkey try to stop Pride parade with water cannons, accidentally creates rainbows – Imgur

As Turkish PM Erdogan continues attempting a tricky balancing act, pandering to both Islamic fundamentalists on the one hand and multinational corporations on the other, police cracked down on the nation’s Pride Parades. Although homosexuality is not illegal in Turkey, by ordering the police to attack Pride Parades, and City Halls to deny permits, Erdogan wins points with the more repressive elements of Turkish society.

They used pepper spray.

They used rubber bullets.

And they used water cannon, to unintended comedic effect.

Dublin could have warned them.
